Trips

As a club, and as individuals, we often organise trips around the UK and abroad to paddle new waters, including placid water and canal paddles, white water river running, surf kayaking, sea kayaking and canoe camping. Most of these are at least partly suitable for beginners and they're great fun and an excellent way to meet other members and make new paddling friends.

Upcoming Trips

14-16 February 2025 - River Usk

The traditional South Wales club trip. We have booked the Penstar bunkhouse again, with the aim to paddle sections of the River Usk. A trip for those at Explorer and Award wanting to develop their skills or for peer paddling.

8-9 March 2025 - River Dart

We have this as the Paddlers Party at River Dart Country Park. There will be an opportunity for leading and coaching or for Peer paddling on the South-West classic. People to organise their own accommodation.

25-27 April 2025 - Kayak Surfin in Croyde

Family beach trip to Croyde in North Devon. The club will be based on the beach so people can go and play in the sea. People to organise their own accommodation. Ruda caravan park is the favourite destination.

9-11 May 2025 - WWS&R and WW Development, North Wales

Based at the Tryweryn Centre in North Wales. There will be six places for those wanting to complete White Water Safety and Rescue training (WWS&R). There will be an opportunity for others to paddle the white water course to develop their skills.

23-26 May 2025 - River Wye Tour

Family tour of the River Wye over a few days.

20-23 June 2025 - Lyme Regis

Visit to the Jurassic Coast for a family fun weekend at the friendly South coast beach.

11-13 July 2025 - Medway Circuit

A weekend tour with the added fun of shooting a few weirs. Ideal family trip with a little added adventure.

26-28 September 2025 - Symonds Yat

Stay at a castle and paddle the famous introductory rapids of the Yat or take a tour of the Wye.

4-5 October 2025 - WWS&R and WW Development, North Wales

17-19 October 2025 - White Water Trip

Destination to be decided.

14-16 November 2025 - River Dart

Regular November club Dart trip. There will be an opportunity for leading and coaching or for Peer paddling on the South-West classic. People to organise their own accommodation.

5-7 December 2025 - Finlake

The classic peer trip down to the Dart and staying at the Finlake caravan park. This trip has previously been for coaches and leaders to focus on their own skills. With the right numbers, we can open this trip to the whole club.

These are open to all club members. Information is sent out by email in advance of each trip. You can also keep an eye on our programme to see what is coming up soon.
